These are great socks all year round, but especially for summer! My rubber gardening shoes require cotton socks as they make your feet sweat, and these socks are perfect at 80% cotton. They are thin, and fit the shoes nicely without being to thick the way most cotton socks are, but prevent sweating, anyway! IDEAL!

Of course, it helps if you're a cat lover, but comfort is the main reason to buy these. For those of us with health issues, like edema or neuropathy, it's important to have a pair of socks that don't cut off your circulation and dig in, leaving a "sock-ring" (to coin a term) embedded into your skin. These socks didn't leave any mark on me; they just feel good and keep me warm. The fabric is not too heavy, but it's not like hosiery. Here's how much I love these socks: this pair arrived yesterday, and today, I ordered another pair. A great find!
